Loris is an accomplished, effective and engaging public speaker in his technical areas of expertise. He is credited with the ability to convey to a wide cross section of people important technical concepts and their relevance.
His liaison, communication and interpersonal skills are excellent. This is demonstrated through the high motivation of his staff, the successful interaction with Australian Defence Forces and other Government agencies, the successful interaction with foreign government agencies (US Navy, USAF, Canadian, Swiss, Spanish and Finnish Forces, FAA), universities and industry as well as the numerous presentations given to senior DST visitors. He is highly accomplished in representing DST at numerous international forums and conferences, including keynote presentations. Loris is well known and respected within the international aircraft structural integrity and accident investigation communities.

Loris can present a 30 hour accredited course entitled “Analysis and Prevention of Aircraft Structural Failures” including as a visiting Professor at Escola de Engenharia de Lorena da Universidade de Sao Paulo (EEL/USP) Brazil. Loris was the keynote speaker at the ASIP conference in Bonita Springs Florida USA in Dec 2013, as well as many other conferences.
Loris has also prepared material based on his experiences to support resilience training.
